VANCLEAVE (2-0) AT GREENE COUNTY (0-2)
At first glance, it appears the unbeaten Vancleave Bulldogs should have little trouble with winless Greene County, but a closer inspection suggests this might be a tough contest for the 'Dogs.
Greene County has lost to West Lauderdale, 25-14, and last Friday to a solid George County squad, 11-7, in a game the Wildcats led until the fourth quarter.
Wildcat quarterback Jacob Mitchell has completed 71 percent of his passes for 355 yards and two touchdowns, but in the running game Greene County has struggled, rushing for only 107 and no touchdowns in two games.
Defensively, Greene County has recorded eight sacks and two interceptions over two games.
The Bulldogs are quite the opposite offensively, relying heavily on a running attack that has accounted for 562 yards and 10 touchdowns in the two wins, averaging 6.3 yards per carry.
Vancleave's running game against Greene County's defense appears to be a case of strength v. strength.
In the end, I think the 'Dogs running attack will be the stronger of the two.
The picks:
Kulo: Vancleave 21, Greene County 12
Amacker: Vancleave 21, Greene County 10
